In the Beginning . . .

The company's founders, brothers Bill and Steve Cutter, grew up in Berkeley, California, a community renowned for its pioneering environmental activism and commitment to natural and organic foods. They spent their childhood summers at Lake Tahoe and hiking the beautiful Yosemite Valley. This developed an appreciation of nature and an understanding of how fragile and vulnerable the environment is, and forged a lasting respect for the earth.

In 1986, the brothers transformed their environmental interests and involvement into a business, establishing Natural Choice Distribution Company. After two decades as business partners, Bill and Steve still enjoy working together to deliver organic and nutritious food for people on the go.

The Quest . . .

Bill and Steve were clear from the start about what they wanted to bring to the marketplace: foods that were organic, raw, or minimally processed - foods that contained healthful ingredients without the preservatives and additives prevalent in highly processed commercial food. Natural Choice was one of the first independent distributors to deliver fresh juices, sprouted breads, and other fresh and local natural foods in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2001, the company added a third partner, Sean Kelly, who helped expand its production and distribution capabilities for delivering freshly prepared foods.
